Soft Tissue Mobilization

What does Soft Tissue Mobilization mean?

Mobilization is a manual therapeutic technique that promotes movement in stagnant tissues and joints. Mobilization uses massage to break down scar tissue and restrictions that are typically associated with trauma to the soft tissue such as a strained muscle or pulled ligament.

We focus on three primary techniques.

1. Myokinesthetic Release

Myokinesthetic Release is a muscle release technique that is nerve root specific and works especially well to reduce radicular pain in the extremities and for plantar fasciitis.

2. The Graston Technique

The Graston technique uses specially formulated stainless steel instruments to break up soft tissue restrictions and scar tissue.

3. Counterstrain and Muscle Energy

Counterstrain and muscle energy are gentle osteopathic techniques to moblize joints and reduce pain.
